Press room · verification before promotion

Facts you can verify. People you can contact.

This is Afrolu's journalist assignment desk: a route to published facts, their source boundaries, relevant editorial areas, approved brand assets, citation instructions and corrections.

Prepared by Chipo Banda, Editorial Researcher · Reviewed by Miriam Otieno, Senior Kenya Editor · Checked 24 August 2026

Afrolu publishes Kenya-first dating guidance, relationship education, safety resources, product-control explainers and selected diaspora guides. That description comes from the site's current About page and visible editorial catalogue. It is a description of coverage, not a claim about audience size, market leadership, app usage, relationship success or influence.

A reporter should begin with the exact page involved. Each serious request is easier to answer when it names the canonical URL, geography, claim, requested format and deadline. This desk does not promise that an editor is available, that unpublished data exists or that a response will arrive by a particular time.

Use this journalist assignment desk in the first 30 seconds

What it is

An editorial website publishing dating and relationship guidance with a strong Kenya focus and selected Africa and diaspora context.

How claims are handled

Page scope, primary sources, provider documentation, limitations, corrections and commercial relationships should remain visible.

What it is not

A dating service, background-check provider, immigration authority, emergency service, market-research panel or guarantee of a platform or person.

For the site's own language, consult the About page. For evidence categories and image rights, consult Methodology. For tracked-link relationships, use the Affiliate Disclosure. For information-handling terms, use the Privacy Policy. For a request or correction, use Contact. Those five records are the central sources for this press room; none should be paraphrased into a larger claim than it makes.

An editorial evidence desk linking an Afrolu published fact to its source, scope and limits
A usable press fact keeps its source and limitation attached. A page title or provider listing is not permission to infer a market statistic.

Use the fact–source–limit rule

Fact

Copy the exact claim the assignment needs.

Source

Open the linked primary record and note its date and publisher.

Limit

Keep exclusions and uncertainty in the finished sentence.

A Canadian App Store page can establish a Canadian iPhone listing when checked. It cannot establish Android access, local users or market share. A municipal plan can establish civic boundaries or planning context. It cannot rank dating apps or describe residents' relationships. A provider help page can document a control. It cannot guarantee that the control is available to every account or that using it makes a date safe.

When quoting an Afrolu judgment, distinguish it from the underlying source. “Afrolu advises readers to keep first-meeting transport independent” is an editorial safety boundary. “Provider X documents feature Y” is a provider fact. “Authority Z states rule Q” is an official-source fact. Combining those into a single unattributed sentence makes verification harder and may exaggerate what the source supports.

Route the assignment before requesting a quote

Send one compact request packet through Afrolu Contact. Put the outlet and public contact identity first. Then state the exact topic and geography, whether the request is for a quotation, background explanation, permission or correction, and the deadline with time zone. Link the Afrolu page and external source involved. Include the intended publication format and whether the conversation would be on or off the record; do not assume terms until they are agreed.

Topic

App control, Kenya context, safety, relationship education, diaspora planning or editorial method.

Geography

Name country, city or cross-border route. Do not use “Africa” when the question is local.

Format

Quote, background, permission, correction or asset request.

Deadline

Give date, clock time and time zone. It is information, not a response guarantee.

The byline on a page identifies its published author or reviewer; it does not promise present availability or authority beyond the person's stated editorial role. Chipo Banda can route a request from the contact desk. Kenya editorial questions may be reviewed in that area, relationship-guide questions in their area, and product claims against the current evidence record. The route exists to reduce guesswork, not to promise an interview.

A complete packet can be routed without guessing which editor is free or what the journalist means by a broad topic.

Approved assets and image-use boundaries

Primary wordmark

Download the approved Afrolu SVG for a light background. Preserve its proportions and clear space; do not redraw it or add a slogan.

Reverse wordmark

Download the approved reverse SVG when a dark background requires it. Do not change colours in a way that implies a separate product or campaign.

Page-specific editorial images carry their own caption, creator, credit, copyright notice, licence link and acquisition route in structured data. The image-rights section explains the published framework. A visible image is not automatically a free stock asset, and a search preview does not remove its attribution or usage conditions. Contact Afrolu when the planned use is unclear.

Do not place the Afrolu wordmark beside an app, authority, outlet or campaign in a way that implies sponsorship, certification or partnership. Do not fabricate an award badge, review score, “featured in” strip or media logo wall. If a future coverage entry is published here, it should link to the actual outlet record and identify what was published.

Build a citation that another reader can check

Minimum citation packet: page title; Afrolu; displayed author where relevant; canonical URL; publication or update date shown on the page; access date; and a short note naming the statement's scope. Link the primary external source too when the story relies on that source rather than only on Afrolu's analysis.

Do not cite a search snippet as the page. Snippets can be shortened, stale or assembled without the visible limitation. Open the canonical page. If an Afrolu route redirects, cite the final canonical owner. If the page is a held evidence notice, it is not a released recommendation. If a number has no visible primary source and scope, ask before repeating it.

The Kenya dating hub, relationship-guide library, Kenya safety guide, unpaid-conversation test, Tinder Kenya review, Bumble Kenya review, Badoo Kenya review and Kenya–USA feasibility dossier show different evidence jobs. Their conclusions should not be merged into one universal Afrolu verdict.

Transmit the media request only after its citation packet is clear

The earlier routing board identifies where a request belongs; this transmission check identifies what Afrolu would actually be asked to verify or provide. Put one requested action in the subject or opening line. Then attach the exact Afrolu canonical URL, the precise statement or visual involved, the relevant primary-source URL, the intended geography, format and deadline with time zone. A broad request for “everything about online dating in Africa” cannot be scoped responsibly from a Kenya city guide or a provider help page.

Separate published material from a new editorial response. If the assignment needs only an existing fact, cite the page and its source boundary. If it needs a quotation, write the exact question and say whether the answer may be attributed. If it needs permission, identify the asset, placement, crop, territory and duration. If it raises an error, use the correction fields below. Combining quote, data, permission and correction requests in one vague message makes each decision harder to verify.

Do not attach private dating profiles, identity documents, account credentials, intimate images or a large unsolicited personal archive. Redact unrelated personal data from a screenshot used only to locate a published issue. The contact route is a delivery channel, not an encrypted evidence vault or emergency service. If immediate safety is involved, use the current appropriate local service; a press response cannot replace it. A complete packet improves routing but still creates no promise of availability, timing, permission or publication.

Corrections require the exact disputed statement

Use the contact route and identify “correction” clearly. Include the canonical URL, heading, exact wording, reason it may be wrong, and the strongest primary record available. A screenshot can locate the issue but should be accompanied by the live source where possible. Do not send identity documents, private dating profiles, account credentials or unrelated personal data.

A factual correction is different from a request to remove an unfavourable but supported judgment. It is also different from a feature update: a provider control may have changed after publication even when the earlier statement accurately reflected the documented check. Give the date and account or country scope without exposing another member. Afrolu can then distinguish an error, a changed fact, a broken link and a disagreement.

This desk makes no operational promises.

It publishes no guaranteed response time, quote availability, embargo acceptance, data delivery, publication date, correction outcome or permission outcome. It also publishes no traffic, audience, award, survey, market-share, “featured in” or relationship-success claim without an exact supporting record.

A citation and corrections chain preserves source URL, access date, scope and exact disputed statement
The correction chain is narrow by design: page, statement, evidence and requested change remain connected.

Coverage and data cabinets stay evidence-locked

This page does not fill empty cabinets with decorative outlet marks, invented downloadable statistics or unattributed “expert insights.” A coverage entry belongs only when it can link to the published outlet record. A data file belongs only when Afrolu can state its owner, method, period, fields, rights and limitations. An absent cabinet is more useful than an impressive fiction.

For published site facts, use the source index below. For a different fact, ask whether a record exists. Do not infer audience demographics from article topics, provider usage from a review, or resident behaviour from a city guide. DatingAdvice and other established publishers are only high-level coverage benchmarks; their wording, artwork, research and layouts are not Afrolu material.

Frequently asked questions

How should a journalist contact Afrolu?

Use Afrolu's contact page and include outlet, deadline, topic, geography, requested format and the exact page or claim involved. The press room publishes no guaranteed response time.

Can Afrolu provide dating-app user counts or market share?

Only when a specific published Afrolu page cites a suitable source for that exact claim. A provider listing, help page or local guide does not by itself establish users, market share, popularity or outcomes.

May an outlet quote an Afrolu article?

A journalist should identify the page title, canonical URL, author where shown, access date and the scope around the quoted statement. Contact Afrolu for permissions questions or use beyond ordinary quotation and citation.

Where can I download the Afrolu logo?

Use only the approved logo files linked in this press room. Do not redraw the wordmark, change its proportions or imply endorsement. Contact Afrolu if a required format is not provided.

Can Afrolu supply an expert immediately?

The routing desk can direct a clearly scoped request to a relevant editorial area, but this page promises neither a named person's availability nor a response by a particular deadline.

How do I request a correction?

Send the canonical page URL, exact disputed wording, reason, supporting primary source and contact details through Afrolu's contact route. Separate a factual correction from a disagreement about editorial judgment.
