You respond directly to a specific prompt or photo, which leads to higher-quality opening messages than cold swipes. The algorithm learns your preferences over time and shows you Standout profiles daily. Hinge's free tier is limited — you get a fixed number of likes per day (around 8) — but the paid Hinge+ tier at approximately KES 1,400/month removes limits and unlocks Roses (super likes) and more filters. M-Pesa is not supported. The user base in Kenya is concentrated heavily in Nairobi's affluent areas and among the diaspora/expat community. In cities like Kisumu or Eldoret, you may find very few profiles. Hinge has excellent safety features: video dates, share-my-date, and a dedicated safety team. The app's design philosophy around deeper connections makes it significantly better than Tinder for people seeking long-term relationships.
