Reader rating privacy
If Afrolu offers ratings, rating a guide is optional. This notice explains what happens if you choose to rate one.
Cookie
After a successful rating, the signed afrolu_guide_rating_browser cookie helps remember your rating on that browser. It lasts up to one year. The rating feature also uses a CSRF cookie to protect submissions.
What is stored
Afrolu stores the guide path, your score, creation and update times, and a pseudonymous browser identifier derived separately for each guide. Scores are used to calculate that guideās reader average and count. The rating feature does not ask for a name or email address.
Retention and questions
Rating records currently have no automatic deletion date. Clearing the rating cookie does not remove a score already stored, and an email address alone does not identify an anonymous rating. For a privacy question, use our contact form without sending sensitive details.
Read the general privacy policy for other site services and cookies.
